Research:
OPNET is being used for various research purposes: to model IP-over-optical networks, wireless networks, optical packet and burst switching networks, etc. OPNET is applied for network dimensioning studies, to evaluate the network performance (e.g. packet loss rates, blocking probabilities, delay and delay jitter), to compare different architectures and protocols, etc.
